A priority for ASCCI is to increase the participation of black owned companies in the automotive value chain. Given the scarcity of black-owned suppliers to the local automotive industry, identifying qualifying suppliers for development or to entrench into value chains is an onerous task, and one that requires a coordinated effort from industry.
ASCCI’s Empowerment Portal represents the outcome of this coordinated industry effort. It offers a streamlined interface between black owned manufacturers, and automotive suppliers and OEMs by providing:
- A database of black owned manufacturers in South Africa
- A high-level assessment of the manufacturers
- A framework to identify and assess new black owned manufacturers on an ongoing basis
New black owned manufacturers will be added to the database on an ongoing basis.
